About Dr. Elizabeth Hentschel, Ph.D.

If you're here, there's a good chance something feels harder than expected

My interest in this work is both professional and personal.

Through my own experiences with pregnancy and loss, I developed a deeper understanding of how complex and emotionally demanding this season of life can be. Those experiences shaped the way I show up in my work—with both clinical expertise and genuine empathy for what my clients are carrying.

I created The Parenting Well to offer a space where parents can feel understood, supported, and not alone in what they’re going through.

You may be pregnant and feeling more anxious than excited. You may have had your baby and don’t feel like yourself. Or you may be parenting young children and wondering why everything feels so overwhelming, even when you’re doing your best.

This is the space I specialize in.

I work with women and parents navigating the emotional challenges of pregnancy, postpartum, and raising young children—helping them feel more steady, more confident, and more like themselves again.

My approach to therapy is warm, practical, and grounded in evidence-based care.

Together, we’ll work to:

  • understand what is driving your anxiety or overwhelm
  • reduce patterns like overthinking, self-doubt, and guilt
  • build skills that help you feel more grounded in your day-to-day life
  • create a more compassionate and sustainable way of showing up as a parent

My goal is not just to help you “get through” this season, but to help you feel more like yourself within it.

I am a licensed psychologist and hold advanced training in perinatal mental health, allowing me to support clients through the unique emotional challenges that come with growing and raising a family.
