Group Therapy

Group therapy provides an opportunity for you to learn and build community at the same time.

A woman’s pregnancy journey feels personal, yet education and connection – to clinicians, loved ones, and other women – can help women navigate uncharted territory and transition into their new role.

I offer a 5 session group for women who are pregnant and have never given birth. The group meets once a month for 90 minutes and covers topics of interest, including perinatal care, depression and anxiety, and postpartum care. Partners or support people are invited to attend one of the sessions, so they can learn how to best support you in maintaining wellness throughout the pregnancy journey. Time will be devoted each session to discussing the educational content and practicing self-care techniques.

Even with experience as a parent, each pregnancy journey feels unique. Connection – to clinicians, loved ones, and other women – can help women reflect on what they have learned and seek wisdom from others as they develop their new role.

I offer a 5 session group for pregnant women who have given birth in the past. This group aims to provide women an opportunity to reflect on past experience, both struggles and successes, to set intentions for the future. The group meets once a month for 90 minutes and covers topics of interest, including perinatal care, depression and anxiety, and postpartum care. Partners or support people are invited to attend one of the sessions, so they can learn how to best support you in maintaining wellness throughout the pregnancy journey. Many parents – new or seasoned – experience doubt and self-criticism, and they often lose sight of the moment at hand. Imagine if you could parent more intentionally, remain present in each moment, connect more with your family, and feel more joy. Participating in an educational and experiential group, with other committed parents, could help you achieve these goals.

I offer an 8 session group for individuals interested in learning mindfulness and self-compassion in the context of parenting. The group meets once a week for 90 minutes and covers topics of interest, including mindful parenting, attachment styles, interpersonal connection, and self-compassion. Group members will learn and practice a mindfulness exercise each session. Individuals unfamiliar with mindfulness will learn new skills, and those with some experience will have an opportunity to deepen their practice. Parents may attend the group individually or as a couple.

The fee for a group psychotherapy session is $100. Couples wanting to join a group together may do so at the rate of $90 each.
