Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy allows you to develop and efficiently meet your goals.

I use these research-supported, present-focused treatment approaches:

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive-behavioral therapy helps someone identify the relationships between feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. The work focuses on changing any thoughts that are inaccurate or unhelpful and behaviors that do not contribute to your well-being. Changing thoughts and behaviors generally leads to a change in emotions.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and commitment therapy encourages someone to identify and live according to their values, not letting challenging thoughts and emotions stand in their way. This increases the person’s satisfaction and meaningfulness.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing helps people identify their motivation to make changes, which helps them follow through on goals.

Mindfulness-based Treatment

Mindfulness-based treatment involves meditation and breathing exercises appropriate for anyone, regardless of religious or spiritual beliefs. Using these tools helps someone become more aware of their experiences and better equipped to cope with challenges.

Video conferencing works with your busy schedule.

All individual therapy sessions are conducted via secure, HIPAA-compliant video conferencing on your computer, tablet, or phone. This allows me to connect with you, even with your busy schedule and any childcare responsibilities. You can connect from any location in Texas that is convenient for you. You’ll save time and money that would otherwise be spent traveling and waiting, and you can meet with me from the comfort of your own space.

Frequently Asked Questions

I can help you navigate challenges throughout your parenting journey, from the moment you consider growing your family onward.
For more information about the services I provide to individuals, please see my blog post Pre-conception, perinatal, postpartum, parenting, oh my!

Our first contact will likely be our phone consultation. I’ll answer any questions you have about my approach to treatment, and we’ll discuss what you hope to gain from treatment. Before our first appointment I will send you an email with new client information that I will ask you review. I may also ask you to complete forms that will help me get to know you before this first meeting. During our first session we will review all consent forms. I will also continue gathering information that will help us develop a treatment plan to address your concerns.

Individual therapy is billed at the rate of $200 for each 50-minute session. I also offer a free 15-minute consultation to make sure that I’m the right therapist for your needs. I accept HSA and FSA cards and major debit and credit cards.

I am an out-of-network provider for health insurance plans. Many insurance plans may reimburse you for a percentage of the cost of therapy after you reach your annual deductible. I do not bill insurance companies directly, but I will provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement or to file towards your deducible.

Please ask your employer for a copy of your health insurance Summary Plan Description (SPD) for more details. My services are also typically health savings account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) eligible.

I require credit card information to hold an appointment and 24 hours’ notice to cancel a scheduled appointment. This applies to first sessions.

Couples are welcome to join group therapy together, but I do not offer couples counseling. Please contact me if you would like a referral.
